Discover how to capture poetry in a scene
Become the architect of your own distinctive style, and master the art of arranging decorative objects with poetic flair to craft beautifully curated rooms, walls, corners and tables for your home, photography, or events.
Described by House & Garden as ‘magical, romantic, and moody’, my decorative style mixes elements that embody these qualities. In this guided presentation through my home and garden, I’ll share insights gleaned from my background in floristry, along with tips from my experience as a stylist for the UK interior design press and location photoshoots.
This event emphasises the art of layering objects for sentiment and time-lived authenticity — a moment captured and preserved. The focus is on setting the mood and experience of a space but I’ll also include theory, observations and guidelines, particularly for photographic purposes.
The workshop is perfect for those who seek inspiration for photography, want to tap into their creative writing skills, or would like to enhance their styling skills. If you love cottage-core aesthetics, wabi-sabi, and vintage afternoon teas, this event is for you!

Craft an enchanting living space by using choreographed layers
As a child, I eagerly awaited our annual visit to the ballet, when the theatre’s set design would cast a spell on me — whisking me away to fantastic realms, all of it evoked by scenery layers that told stories using nothing but props, colour and representation.
I later pursued this passion for ‘setting the scene’ by studying theatre set-design, and used it in my floristry business where my natural style became a mediterranean-garden aesthetic, bursting with fruit, vegetables, wood, moss and classical urns.
To this day, few people know that I also style for photoshoots. I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the UK’s best interior and food photographers, such as Rachael Smith, for publications including The English Home, Homes & Gardens, Ideal Home, Marie Claire, and Lantern Cottage (my colourful little home) has featured in The English Home, House & Garden and Homeworthy.
From these experiences, I have learnt to cultivate and refine a layered, maximalist style for minimalist areas where space is compromised — a magical, moody and romantic aesthetic — lived in an historic English cottage.

“I was especially fascinated by Fiona’s approach to reading light and how she uses highlight and shadow to craft colour schemes that transition beautifully between spaces…I left feeling like my soul had been quietly nourished. A reminder of the deep, emotional resonance colour can carry.”
