The UK’s only ‘in-house colour experience’ for professionals, students and home-owners.
Colour consultant, Fiona de Lys, opens her North London home, Lantern Cottage, for exclusive training in her signature Delysian Colour System, Part 1: Aesthetic Narrative.
This immersive course explores the relationship colour has with behaviour and atmosphere, for shaping the experience of an interior. With Lantern Cottage as a case-study, students can observe, document and experiment with colour ideas during the guided demonstrations and with mood-boards throughout different rooms.
The workshop day is divided into three parts, with theory, content creation, and practical application. You’ll explore your aesthetic profile and produce your own narrative road-map using a systematic framework. In the afternoon, after an authentic Ligurian lunch, you’ll produce your colour scheme. Included in your booking is a 40 minute 1:1 online session at a later date. There is also free access to Luminaria — a monthly webinar with ongoing tips, ideas and expert guest speakers.
This one-day experience will provide you with the knowledge required to benefit you the most for part 2. It will leave you inspired, give you new ideas how to choose colour for different materials, and how to develop the foundation of a scheme for your own home or interior design projects.
This is a unique approach to colour training and an opportunity to be part of an exclusive network. Places are limited to four, so be quick to book yours now.
The Aesthetic Narrative workshop will help you develop your own colour schemes for work or home
In her unique approach to colour education, Fiona demonstrates how to master a personal colour scheme, applying colour as a tool for measuring and communicating emotion.
Fiona advocates that identity can reframe the interaction and dialogue with an interior space. This is explored through colour choices that echo ‘felt-life’ experiences, based on perception, bias and aspiration.
You will learn the framework from which to create a colour scheme – an extremely valuable tool for anyone wanting to become a colour consultant, already practicing, or working in interior design.
In this immersive course, an eclectic layering of Argile paint colours (whom I also consult for), furniture, textiles and decorative objects weave a narrative throughout Lantern Cottage and garden, demonstrating the result of the aesthetic narrative method.
This is an intimate insight into Fiona’s English-Italian world of colour, in an authentic setting, her own home, as seen in UK interiors magazines House & Garden, The English Home, and media channel Homeworthy.
As a small group, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions, and the authentic Ligurian lunch — very much a part of the aesthetic experience — provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas that can be explored later in the hands-on workshop.
Who is this event for?
The Aesthetic Narrative course is for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of colour, and broaden their approach to colour consultancy, or an interior design discipline. It offers a fresh application to colour scheming, particularly within a systematic and holistic framework.
Aesthetic Narrative is part one of two courses in the Delysian Colour System.
Your workshop includes theoretical notes, for exercises and demonstrations guided by myself, and are illustrated with various colours. Refreshments, lunch, a gift bag and a 40 minute 1:1 post-event session are also included in the cost.
You’ll learn my personal approach to aesthetic narrative (the result of dynamic, subjective and visual experiences) and will take home your own personal colour scheme, created in the garden studio at Lantern Cottage.
You’ll leave inspired with lots of new ideas, tips and advice on how to create colour schemes that reflect your own identity, and if you’re a professional, how to help your clients find theirs.
“I was especially fascinated by Fiona’s approach to reading light and how she uses highlight and shadow to craft colour schemes that transition beautifully between spaces…I left feeling like my soul had been quietly nourished. A reminder of the deep, emotional resonance colour can carry.”
