Introduce a new dimension of colour to your work with the UK’s only ‘in-house colour experience’

Discover how to interpret colour in a three-dimensional way, focusing on colour combinations that are grounded in the natural phenomena of highlight and shadow.

In this hands-on workshop aided with real-life examples, Fiona demonstrates the principles of colour combinations informed by the relationship between light and form. You will learn how to bend hues that harmoniously transition between rooms, aspect and surfaces.

This immersive experience will completely change the way you see colour, offering a professional advantage you can enjoy in your day-to-day work. As an adaptable method, it can be integrated with other colour theories, and can be a reliable source for choosing, visualising and discussing colour with clients beyond traditional, linear methods.

The colour scheme excercise utilises designer fabrics, paint chips and material references. It is suitable for experienced designers or creatives who have prior experience working with colour or pattern and is a particularly beneficial progression for anyone who has completed Part 1 (Aesthetic Narrative).

Places are very limited, so be quick to book yours now.

The Colour Perspective workshop will transform the way you work with colour

A new context for working with colour in an engaging day that delves into the intricate and delicate relationship between colour, light, and form.

In this workshop, Fiona showcases the successful and ground-breaking methods of combining colours, developed for her own consultancy practice, one part of a way of working for the Delysian Colour System.

Drawing on technical and creative insights from personal studies and research, Fiona demonstrates the benefits in the illusion of three-dimensional highlights and shadows on a flat surface (as seen in architectural trompe l’œil). Students can observe real-life examples applied to paint colours across different surfaces and connecting spaces, and practice ‘bending colour’ into warmer and cooler hues.

This course provides learners with tools and skills for making colour choices with light-informed sensibility, to advance their aesthetic narrative or scheme.

Who is this event for?

The Colour Perspective workshop is perfect for interior designers or creatives who have prior experience working with colour or pattern, or who have completed Part 1 (Aesthetic Narrative) and want to take their skills to the next level.

Gain a deep understanding of colour — how it behaves under variable natural light, and across different forms — that will help you use colour with confidence in your professional practice.

Learn my signature method, the Delysian Colour System, that will help you build successful colour combinations for your projects.

Take home my roadmap to selecting colour, and a colour scheme you’ll create in the afternoon workshop, under my tuition, at Lantern Cottage.

“Fiona’s workshop was both practical and inspiring. It gave me a clearer understanding of how to transition colour between spaces, work with different lighting conditions, and add depth and interest to my schemes. Seeing the concepts applied in real-life situations really helped bring the learning to life. I’d highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to improve the application of colour in their work.”

“What a magical day, although I was way out of my comfort zone (in a good way). So interesting to look at colour with a totally different perspective — focusing on highlight and shadow rather than the traditional way…it’s very hands on, and you learn so much throughout the day, but it’s not all hard work because Fiona puts on a delicious lunch and you get the opportunity to talk to other people interested in colour.”
