I founded The Colour Academy to give colour practitioners, from newcomers to seasoned professionals, the opportunity to grow personally, and technically, in their craft.
It houses my Aesthetic Narrative and my Colour Perspective courses, the UK’s only colour training hosted in a private home, my Grade 2 listed Georgian cottage.
Whether you’re taking your first steps in colour consulting, or seeking to define your own colour system, the Academy offers much more than training — it’s somewhere to develop confidence, skills, and a distinct professional identity in the world of colour.

This brand new, virtually mentored course prepares you to move through observation and articulation, using your own recorded experience of colour, to help you differentiate yourself professionally with a colour framework that reflects your signature style.
At the heart of this course, together with the personal observations portfolio that you’ll build, is the invaluable, seven one-to-one sessions spent with Fiona. Providing insight and video mentorship in a personalised programme of support throughout the course, Fiona will help you navigate your experience of colour from a personal and professional perspective, up to and beyond your final project submission.

Colour and the Story of a Home

An engaging workshop focused on how to utilise colour to convey stories and evoke emotions within interior spaces. In this interactive course, you’ll gain the skills needed to recognise the key factors that help create a meaningful colour scheme, and learn how to implement it effectively.
Discover how to leverage colour as a powerful communication tool, influencing behaviour and experience, as you explore the concept of an ‘aesthetic narrative’. Learn how to curate colour with intention, creating distinctive spaces that nurture atmosphere, mood, and support the regulation of the nervous system.

Colour Perspective
An Immersive Exploration of Colour

Discover the principles of working with colour as a moving, dynamic element, to create advanced combinations. This system emphasises the shift in hues found in the natural phenomena of light and shadow, offering a more sophisticated approach to scheme appreciation.
In this hands-on workshop filled with real-life examples, you’ll elevate colour schemes and advance your aesthetic style, as you learn to read colour in a 3D way. Discover how to apply unexpected hues to transition harmoniously across rooms with measurable, light-informed sensibility — a hallmark of my proprietary Delysian Colour System.

A completely unique approach to colour education with combined learning methods of experience-immersion, theory, and practice, applied over your chosen study duration. This is particularly useful for new designers or those wanting to take their time to process their notes and worksheets, or practice, in-between the two training days.
Discover how heritage, place and identity can inform schemes that make unique and nostalgic spaces to live in, as you interact with the colours and aesthetic of my Georgian cottage. Using your own case study, you will then produce a narrative profile and map, applying the principles taught in part 1 of the Delysian Colour System, to make your scheme.
Then, at a later date, complete the part 2 workshop on how to read colour in a three-dimensional way, focusing on combinations that are grounded in the natural phenomena of highlight and shadow. Learn how to apply the principles of colour perspective and placement to advance your Aesthetic Narrative scheme using designer fabrics and other surface materials.
