And just like that, I’m into 2026 with a collabora And just like that, I’m into 2026 with a collaboration @bennett_design_uk who is hosting my first workshop in Ireland in March and I CANNOT WAIT 🙌

Together with the fantastic colours @porterspaints I will be holding a fun day for designers at the heavenly @littlewoodbank estate in Gilford on 6 March. Set within a stunning location, this 325 year old home - one of the famous Linen Houses of the River Bann - is open for events and stays and I am thrilled to be invited to share my world of colour in this beautiful, historic area.

For those wanting to extend the day into the evening for more conversation on colour and interior design, over delicious home-cooked food, then we have just 3 available spaces for overnight stay including breakfast.

Spaces are limited - if you miss out don’t worry, we have a waiting list ready for a next workshop date. To book, contact Jill @bennett_design_uk.

See you there 💚

The benefits of working with combinations using my The benefits of working with combinations using my Delysian Colour System is that this helps you to navigate away from relying solely on liner methods of working with colour restricted to just value - in other words, tints, tones, shades - often seen in colour charts. Try the following 7 steps to create this particular colour scheme around your favourite fabric swatch - I've used one @gpjbaker

Step #1 - Identify your starting point.
Select 2 colours from your fabric. Here, I choose a blue and cream.

Step #2 - Bend your colours to create your first shadow colours
Decide if you want cool, warm or both. I have chosen a cool shadow to the cream, and a warm shadow to the blue. I could either use just the shadow paint colour, or add the original colour as wood trim, or on ceiling for example.

Step #3 - Add depth
Select 1 of your colours from the previous step and bend it again to add further depth. Here, a plum velvet brings warmth and is achieved by bending the previous cool shadow into a warm shadow colour which balances well with the previous teal.

Step #4 - Link to the beginning fabric
In this step, I choose a fabric with a pattern that contains the original cream colour in the main swatch and a deep burgundy colour that is a warm shadow to the plum velvet.

Step #5 - Link again to the beginning fabric
Taking the new burgundy shadow colour in the previous step, I use a stripe that contains this and a colour from the original swatch (orange)

Step #6 - Introduce complimenting surfaces
A carpet and blind fabric, which is a warm shadow to the yellow in the orignial swatch.

Step #7 - Expand and twist!
A vintage fabric ties in with the scheme as does marble for a worktop or adjoining bathroom, as an idea.

I can already see what other accessories I might consider, and what colours would look great for an adjoining room!

How does your scheme look? I'd love to see - send me your photos and the first five design entires will be featured here!
