Meet me about 6 years ago, when I had an shoplet i Meet me about 6 years ago, when I had an shoplet in Hampstead. I specialised mostly in antique and vintage botanical decorative items. The space was tiny but jam-packed with carefully sourced items for the home and garden that I often used on styling shoots. I had red hair, back then, and sometimes wore a kimono. It was in this chapter when I first became a colour consultant and began introducing paint under my styling umbrella. Sadly, when the land was sold, we all had to leave and relocate. It was not long after this that I spread my wings by working with other paint brands. It was also here where I met today’s client who contacted me all this time later with a project she needed some help with. She kept my details, and this really touched me. The project turned out to be a fantastically enriching process for us both; so much so that I spontaneously decided I had to offer a training session for my workshop attendees - a Q&A about my process, solutions, considerations. The sessions are free of charge and I do them because I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge, sharing skills, teaching, and helping others connect with colour. I also found myself reconnecting with the cottage-core aesthetic I love so much but didn’t settle for in my current home with other mouldings like this 👉🏼 Delicate details seem to draw my eye again at the moment. Wow, wow, wow…a fantastic end to Sunday’s workshop Wow, wow, wow…a fantastic end to Sunday’s workshop. We laughed, shared, created, observed, ate, drank and coloured the day away inside the cottage, in the studio and in the rooms for the schemes. I am SO proud of each and every scheme produced over the weekend. Each with a very distinctive style. The revelation of words and emotions has given me an idea of how to develop the workshops further, and I shall be spending the winter exploring this! Four years ago, in August 2022, a photograph of a Four years ago, in August 2022, a photograph of a colour combination I put together at home won Colour of the Month in Homes & Gardens for @edwardbulmerpaint . The inspiration for the colours felt intuitively right. I knew I wanted the warmth of Ligurian buildings in this north facing room, but I also felt conflicted about the building being a Georgian cottage so I figured something between a Suffolk pink and Liguria would work. This confusion was prompted by a lack of clarity about my aesthetic narrative. However, what is relevant about this image is not the story but the combination of colours. The following three years involved much soul searching, analysis of my natural colour biases and gaining clarity about where my strengths were rooted. And when you begin to open that door, a whole world of colour unfolds before your eyes, in your heart, and in your logic. This unfolded into something I never envisaged at the time — my own method of working colour. Two years ago, I began redecorating my entire home to align with my signature style; a layered process that brings together observation, narrative, light, architecture and form, intention and aspiration. A bias of preference… …the why and how of poetic living through colour, and how it could serve me for healing, growth and joy. Last year, I opened up my home to teach the 2 parts of my method, the Delysian Colour System, to those wanting to explore their own Aesthetic Narrative and for understanding Colour Perspectives. This year, I have begun seeing some beautiful direction of work being posted on Instagram from attendees, whether that’s harnessing their own narrative at home, implementing colour ideas for client projects, and, combination inspiration elsewhere that aligns with the Delysian Colour System. 🎨 October workshops 3rd & 4th.
